Itinerary:
Day 1: Bentota
Upon your arrival at the airport in Sri Lanka, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with the immigration formalities and luggage retrieval. After the formalities, you will be transferred to Bentota, a picturesque coastal town located about 2 hours away from the airport. During the journey, you can enjoy the scenic views of the Sri Lankan countryside. Upon reaching Bentota, you will check-in at your hotel and have some time to relax and freshen up. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. You can explore the nearby area, relax on the beach, or indulge in some optional activities offered by the hotel.
Day 2: Bentota
After breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed to visit a turtle hatchery, where you can learn about the conservation efforts aimed at protecting sea turtles. You will have the opportunity to observe different species of turtles and even participate in releasing baby turtles into the ocean. Following the turtle hatchery visit, you will embark on a scenic boat ride along the Madu River. This leisurely boat ride will take you through mangrove forests, small islands, and local villages. You can enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and spot various bird species and wildlife along the way. After the boat ride, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. In the afternoon, you will have the chance to engage in various water sports activities offered at Bentota Beach. From jet skiing and banana boat rides to windsurfing and snorkeling, there are plenty of options to choose from for adrenaline junkies and water enthusiasts alike. After an adventurous day, you can spend the evening at your leisure, either relaxing at the hotel or exploring the nearby area on your own. You can dine at a local restaurant or enjoy a meal at the hotel, sampling more delicious Sri Lankan dishes or international cuisine.
Day 3: Day excursion to Mirissa and Galle
Early in the morning, you will depart from Bentota to Mirissa for an exciting whale watching expedition. Mirissa is one of the best places in the world to spot blue whales, sperm whales, and dolphins in their natural habitat. After the whale watching experience, you will proceed to Galle, a historic coastal city known for its Dutch colonial architecture and UNESCO World Heritage-listed Galle Fort. You will explore the charming streets, visit historical landmarks, and admire the picturesque views of the Indian Ocean.
Return to Bentota: After the city tour, you will return to Bentota for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Yala
After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel in Bentota and proceed to Yala, home to the famous Yala National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife and leopard population. Upon reaching Yala, you will embark on an exhilarating jeep safari in Yala National Park. The safari offers you the chance to spot elephants, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat. After the safari, you will check-in at your hotel in Yala for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you will depart from Yala and head towards Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as Sri Lanka’s “Little England” due to its colonial-era architecture, cool climate, and tea plantations. Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, you will embark on a city tour, visiting attractions such as Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, and the Nuwara Eliya Golf Course. You will also have the opportunity to stroll through the charming streets lined with colonial-style buildings. Later in the day, you will visit the Seetha Amman Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to the legendary princess Seetha from the Hindu epic Ramayana. After the sightseeing tour, you will check-in at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Excursion to Horton Plains
Early in the morning, you will proceed to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning landscapes, including grassy plains, cloud forests, and dramatic waterfalls. You will embark on a trekking excursion to World’s End, a sheer cliff with a breathtaking 1,200-meter drop. The viewpoint offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and tea plantations. After exploring Horton Plains, you will visit Hakgala Botanical Garden, one of the oldest and largest botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The garden is famous for its diverse collection of plants, including exotic orchids, roses, and ferns.
Return to Nuwara Eliya: In the evening, you will return to Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Colombo
After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel in Nuwara Eliya and proceed to Colombo, the vibrant capital city of Sri Lanka.
Upon arrival in Colombo, you will embark on a city tour, exploring popular landmarks such as the Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, and the bustling Pettah Market. You will also drive past the Old Parliament Building, Galle Face Green, and other notable sites. You will have the opportunity to indulge in shopping at various malls, boutiques, and street markets in Colombo, where you can purchase souvenirs, handicrafts, clothing, and other items. After the city tour and shopping excursion, you will check-in at your hotel in Colombo for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, you will have some free time for leisure activities or last-minute shopping in Colombo. Later, you will check out from the hotel and be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. This marks the end of your memorable trip to Sri Lanka.
